It is rare that your career and your club join hand in hand, but Lt. Bobby Moss received a pleasant surprise when it was announced that the Atlanta United Training Ground would call his city home.
A Firefighter for the City of Marietta, and a huge fan of Atlanta United, Bobby holds a unique relationship to the club through his career. The firefighters at Station 55 are serving as the first responders to the Atlanta United Training Ground. Bobby explained the he and the entire City of Marietta feel a special tie to the club and are very excited about the incoming training ground.
"It's a new improvement and beautification of the city. It's a great partnership with Atlanta United."
It is a priority of the club to encompass all of Atlanta in every aspect of the expansion team. Not only does Atlanta United plan to tie the south together, but the city as well. The positive impact the training facilities are having on the City of Marietta is just one example of this goal being achieved.
"When Atlanta United was announced I felt pure excitement. I was eager to get my season tickets so I could be a part of the inaugural season and history of the game. I became a Founding Member right from the very beginning."
Bobby was one of the first ever Founding Members, he committed to buy his season tickets within the first week they were available. At the time, the only soccer he followed was the EPL, but as soon as he knew the game was being introduced to his city, he had to get behind it.
Atlanta United is discovering the passion for the beautiful game that has been present in the city for a long time. Now there is a team for life long soccer supporters to rally behind and for new fans to discover the unique culture and love for the game.
"It is so exciting that we can have an MLS team here in the South so close to us that we can be a part of it."
Bobby is a South Florida native that moved to Atlanta with his wife. His favorite thing about moving to this city excitement and the atmosphere surrounding the professional sports franchises.
Sports are his passion and he loves that living in Atlanta allows him to cheer on multiple professional teams, as well as play recreationally himself. Coming from a small town, Atlanta is more than Bobby could have ever imagined. It is the city that he now considers his home.
Like many other people living in the ATL they may not be Atlanta natives, but they are certainly Atlantans.
