After several weeks away from the pitch, ATL UTD 2 finally returned to practice at the Training Ground in Marietta, Georgia. Players followed the same protocol and similar training sessions as first team, Atlanta United.
Players practiced in one of four quadrants on the field to maintain social distancing and were given specific start and stop times to stagger arrivals and departures.
During quarantine, players were given weekly fitness plans and participated in video conference workouts to sustain team camaraderie. Upon returning to the Training Ground, players and coaches alike were overjoyed for some semblance of normalcy.
"It’s been great for the staff and players to get back to the Training Ground," head coach Stephen Glass of Atlanta United 2. "The boys were able to do physical work. There’s always a different feel when we are at our own facility. I think the work rate was up a notch and competition level between the players was up a level to beat each other."
