We’re finally united.
Atlanta United geared up for practice this week at the Training Grounds with their teammates. The days are gone of watching each other from opposite sides of the field or yelling at each other to talk.
They are practicing drills and scrimmaging—together.
“I haven’t seen all of the guys in a while,” Homegrown George Campbell said with a smile. “The first two days seeing all the guys was really exciting and refreshing. I’m happy we are back to full-team training.”
Competing and training at the highest level is always the 5-Stripes mentality, but unity is a big of that mindset as well.
“We’re very happy for the step that we’ve taken, both the club and the league, to be able to train as a group with teammates,” Pity Martínez shared. “Psychologically, as I said in the other interview, it’s very important. It helps us all. We’re going through a tough time as citizens and it’s very good to be able to train again with the group.”
Throughout the week, players practiced in the morning to gear up for their return. Though they are practicing together, safety is still key to the ATL UTD staff.
“They have all the health and safety measures planned out here,” defender Miles Robinson emphasized. “I feel very safe. The team is healthy.”
The team will continue to practice in Atlanta for the next few weeks until they head to Orlando for the MLS is Back Tournament starting July 8th.
